1Below started somewhere between 36,000 feet and a chairlift.
Our founder flies for a living, crossing the country from the cockpit of a 737. But no matter where the job went, the routine stayed the same: watching weather patterns, tracking storms, planning the next day in the mountains.
Utah is home.
Here, the mountains aren't a destination. They're twenty minutes from the driveway, in your morning plans, your weekend plans, and your weather app. Winter isn't something you experience. It's something you organize your life around.
You know the rhythm. Group texts that explode at 4 a.m. because a storm dropped a foot overnight. Friends you've known for years but only see in lift lines. A few runs before work, then back to real life until the next one.
Somewhere along the way we kept asking the same question
Why do the brands that represent mountain culture only seem to matter when we're on the mountain? For most of us, being a mountain person isn't an activity. It's an identity. That identity doesn't melt with the snow. It's hiking ridgelines in July. Checking forecasts in October. Tuning skis in a garage in November because winter is finally on the radar.
The season changes. The mindset doesn't.
So we started with apparel built for life off the hill, the everyday moments where mountain culture actually lives.
Giving Deeper
We also believe the people who love these places should help protect them. Through Giving Deeper, 5% of every sale goes to organizations supporting mountain ecosystems, public lands, avalanche safety and rescue, outdoor access, and the next generation of adventurers. You choose where yours goes.
Seek Deeper
The philosophy behind all of it is Seek Deeper. Deeper snow, sure. But also deeper friendships, deeper roots, deeper experiences in the places that make you feel alive.
Born in Utah. Built for everywhere mountains matter.
